Participation Terms and Privacy Policy

Participation Terms

These terms apply to the meetups and activities published by Ravers Barcelona and are intended to help maintain a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for everyone taking part.

1. Participation in meetups

Participation in a meetup may require prior confirmation of attendance (RSVP) through our website.

Confirming your attendance allows us to better organise the activity and send you information related to it, such as schedule changes, meeting points, final locations, cancellations or other necessary instructions.

An RSVP through Ravers Barcelona does not replace any tickets, reservations or registrations that may be required when the meetup takes place as part of an event organised by a third party.

2. Respect and community conduct

We expect all participants to behave respectfully towards others.

Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, threats, violence or any behaviour that may put other participants at risk or cause them serious discomfort will not be tolerated.

Everyone must respect the personal boundaries of others and behave responsibly during activities.

3. Meetups at third-party events

Some Ravers Barcelona meetups involve meeting up to attend festivals, clubs, concerts or other events organised by third parties.

In these cases, Ravers Barcelona acts as a meeting point for members of the community and not as the organiser of the main event.

Entry conditions, tickets, schedules, security arrangements and venue rules are determined by the relevant organiser or venue.

4. Changes to schedule, location or cancellation

Due to the nature of some meetups, certain details may change.

The final meeting point, location or any relevant changes may be communicated at a later stage by email and, where appropriate, through the community channels.

Ravers Barcelona may modify or cancel a meetup when circumstances make it necessary.

5. Personal responsibility

Each participant is responsible for their own decisions, travel arrangements, belongings and behaviour during meetups.

Ravers Barcelona cannot be held responsible for the loss of personal belongings, the individual actions of other attendees or circumstances arising from events, venues or external organisers.

6. Access to and conduct within the community

Confirming attendance at a meetup does not automatically mean becoming part of the Ravers Barcelona WhatsApp community.

Joining the community is handled through a separate application process.

Our basic community rules also apply within our groups and community channels, including respect between members, the prohibition of unauthorised advertising and the prohibition of repeatedly or inappropriately contacting other members privately.

7. Breach of the rules

Ravers Barcelona may limit participation in its own meetups or remove access to its community channels in cases where these terms are breached, where behaviour seriously affects the wellbeing of the community, or where there are reasonable safety concerns.

When an activity takes place at a third-party venue or event, the rules and decisions of the relevant organiser or venue will also apply.

8. Acceptance of the terms

By confirming your attendance at a meetup, you declare that you have read and accepted these Participation Terms.

Privacy Policy

At Ravers Barcelona, we take the privacy of people who attend our meetups and use our website seriously.

This section explains what personal data we may collect, how we use it and what rights you have in relation to it.

1. Data Controller

The controller responsible for the processing of data collected through Ravers Barcelona is:

Controller: Pablo Choquehuanca
Project: Ravers Barcelona
Website: ravers.barcelona
Contact email: [email protected]

2. What data we collect

When you confirm your attendance at a meetup, we may collect:

  • Name.
  • Email address.
  • The event for which you have confirmed your attendance.
  • Your RSVP status and confirmation date.
  • Information related to communications sent in order to manage the meetup.

The website and its technical systems may also generate data necessary for its operation, security and abuse prevention, such as technical information associated with requests made to the server.

We do not request special categories of personal data through the RSVP form.

3. How we use your data

The data provided through the RSVP process is used to:

  • Register and manage your attendance at a meetup.
  • Verify the email address used for the RSVP.
  • Send you the link required to confirm your attendance.
  • Communicate information necessary in relation to the meetup.
  • Inform you of changes to the schedule or location, cancellations or important instructions.
  • Send you, where appropriate, the final details and meeting point.
  • Manage issues related to the activity.

Data provided through the RSVP process will not, by itself, be used to subscribe you to newsletters or promotional communications about other events.

Applying to join the Ravers Barcelona WhatsApp community is a separate process.

4. Legal basis for processing

The processing of data necessary to manage an RSVP and communications directly related to that meetup is carried out in order to respond to the request made by the participant and to manage their participation in the activity.

Where processing requires specific consent — for example, a future voluntary subscription to promotional communications — that consent will be requested separately.

5. How long we retain your data

Data related to an RSVP will be retained for as long as necessary to manage the meetup and the communications associated with it.

It may subsequently be retained for the period necessary to deal with possible issues, responsibilities or legitimate needs related to the activity, after which it will be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer necessary to retain it.

If, in the future, a person creates a member account or establishes another independent relationship with Ravers Barcelona, data associated with that relationship may be subject to its own retention periods.

6. Who your data may be shared with

Ravers Barcelona does not sell the personal data of its participants.

In order to provide its services, it may be necessary to use technical service providers that have limited access to certain data, for example:

  • website hosting and operation;
  • email infrastructure;
  • security and technical maintenance.

These providers act only to the extent necessary to provide their services.

Data may also be disclosed where there is a legal obligation to do so.

7. Required RSVP data

In order to submit an RSVP, we require at least the information marked as mandatory on the form, currently your name and a valid email address.

Your email address is required to verify the request and to communicate essential information related to the meetup.

If this information is not provided, it will not be possible to complete the RSVP through the website.

8. Your rights

Where applicable, you may request:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure of your data.
  • Restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
  • Objection to processing where applicable.
  • Data portability where legally applicable.

To exercise these rights, you can contact us at:

[email protected]

indicating which right you wish to exercise and providing the information necessary to identify your request.

9. Security

Ravers Barcelona takes reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or misuse. However, no system connected to the Internet can guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the features of Ravers Barcelona, the processing activities carried out or the applicable legal obligations change.

The version published on this page will be the version in force at any given time.
